The payroll department processes pay for Teachers, CUPE, Principals/Vice Principals, Teachers on Call, and Excluded employees. The district employs over 1300 staff with a total annual payroll and benefit cost of $70M.
Payroll Schedule
All employees have their pay deposited directly into their bank accounts on payday.
Teachers
Teachers are paid a salary ten times per year, once per month at the end of the month, with half of their monthly net pay advanced to them on the 15th of each month.
Teachers on Call
TOC’s are paid biweekly on a one week delay of the dates they actually work. Payday is every second Tuesday.
This group is paid using timesheets. Each TOC is responsible to submit his/her timesheet to the payroll department in order to be paid.
Absence reports are faxed to payroll every Friday a.m. -TOC timesheets are balanced to Absence Reports.
CUPE
CUPE employees are paid biweekly on a one week delay of the dates they actually work.
Payday is every second Friday.
This group has their pay generated by way of timesheets. Failure to include, delete, or change the hours on a CUPE employee on a timesheet will result in the employee not being paid, or being paid incorrectly.
CUPE timesheets are faxed to payroll every 2nd Friday a.m.
Principals and Vice Principals
P/VP’s are paid on a biweekly basis, right up to date.
