The Purchasing Department is responsible for the coordination of all public and non-public fund purchases for the Sooke School District. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the role of the Purchasing department is to ensure that District School Board funds are spent in the best, most business-like way possible using the criteria of price, quality and service

- Purchasing Card Program
- Purchase Orders
- District Tenders and Requests for Proposals
- Contract Administration
- Contract Negotiations
Objectives of the Purchasing Department
- To deal fairly and equitably with all suppliers;
- Provide procurement services and advice for all departments;
- Assure adherence to all laws, regulations and procedures;
- Maximize competition for large procurements.
The Purchasing Department has two part-time staff made up of a half time Purchasing Manager and a 16 hour Purchasing Assistant (Monday-Thursday, 8am – 12pm).
