Meet Jason Verners. He is a grade ten student at Belmont Secondary and also an accomplished magician! He took his talents to the stage on Monday afternoon and treated a few classes to his magic show. His customized show included stories about his passion for magic and how he was encouraged by a teacher in our district to pursue his passion.
Jason has also represented Canada in the International Magic Experience Competition in Las Vegas and walked away with a third place finish in the Youth International Magic category!
Who was Jason’s main inspiration for magic? Derren Brown and Justin Flom.
Belmont’s Social Studies 11 and Social Justice 12 students had a special visit from MP Randall Garrison on Friday afternoon. Mr. Garrison spoke about his life as a MP, federal politics, his career in government, his role as Critic for Public Safety & National Security, LGBTQ issues, and his Private Members Bills, including C-279.
Thank you for visiting Mr. Garrison!

December 4th marks Belmont Secondary’s annual 10,000 Tonight food drive! If you live in the Langford and Colwood area expect a knock on your door between 5-8pm for non- perishable food items. All items will be donated to the Goldstream Food Bank to help feed the community. This year we have two grade twelve students organizing the drive, Hope Robinson and Haley More.
We are currently in need of volunteers who can drive and have a vehicle. Volunteers can bring their significant others, children, and friends along, and/or be matched up with some of Belmont’s finest student volunteers. Please email email@example.com if you want to volunteer.
If you want to donate and don’t live in the neighborhood you can drop off your non-perishable food items to Belmont Secondary’s main office during school hours from December 2-6.
Lets reach 10,000 items!
