Pacific Secondary and Westshore Centre for Learning and Training provide a number of options for students who choose to complete their high school education outside of the traditional schools.
Pacific Secondary School provides students with an opportunity to experience an alternative educational setting and process. The academic requirements set out by the British Columbia Ministry of Education and followed by high schools in British Columbia apply to Pacific Secondary students. However, the setting of the school and the process and structure differ from most high schools in that:
- The program is individualized;
- The program will provide for flexible entry and exit;
- The alternate setting and process are suitable for students who have found the traditional school setting has not met their educational, or social needs.
Students admitted into Pacific are expected to be committed to completing their high school diploma within a normal period of time.
