The payroll department processes pay for Teachers, CUPE, Principals/Vice Principals, Teachers on Call, and Excluded employees. The district employs over 1300 staff with a total annual payroll and benefit cost of $70M.
All employees have their pay deposited directly into their bank accounts on payday.
Teachers are paid a salary ten times per year, once per month at the end of the month with half of the monthly net pay advanced on the 15th of each month.
Teachers on Call (TOC)
TOC’s are paid biweekly on a one week delay of the dates they actually work. Payday is every second Tuesday. This group is paid using timesheets. Each TOC is responsible for submitting his or her timesheet to the payroll department in order to be paid. Absence reports are faxed to payroll every Friday morning and TOC timesheets are balanced to these reports accordingly.
CUPE employees are paid biweekly on a one week delay of the dates they actually work. Payday is every second Friday. CUPE time sheets are faxed to payroll every second Friday. Failure to include, delete or change hours on a time sheet can result in incorrect pay.
