Fine Arts Focus
Crystal View opened in 2004 as an Elementary School with a Fine Arts focus. All teaching staff at Crystal View have experience and expertise in teaching one or more of the Fine Arts areas of music, visual arts, drama and dance.
In Kindergarten, the Fine Arts are addressed within the classroom curriculum. Beginning in Grade 1, children recieve 2 classes per week in music, visual arts and dance. Drama is integrated throughout classroom curriculum. Children may be taught by one or more teachers in the Fine Arts areas.
Fine Arts curriculum is integrated within the regular classroom context where possible. The approach of our instruction is an emphasis on having children participate in the process of Fine Arts. Performance is not the goal of our instruction. Our philosophy involves having children experience and develop an appreciation for the Fine Arts through exposure and participation.
