LYNC (Leading Youth to New Careers)
Through a partnership between the school district and Camosun College, you can now take some college courses and programs while you are still in high school. The best part is your tuition is covered!
FORUM
Each year, Forum bring students (age 15 - 19) to Ottawa for a week of intensive academic adventure, immersing them in the exciting world of national politics and public affairs. Through discussions with today's national leaders and decision-makers, as well as with their peers, students develop their critical thinking and active listening skills. Through simulation and role playing, Forum participants enhance their leadership skills, team building, and public speaking capabilities. The cost to attend is $895 and covers travel, accommodations, meals, and activities for the week. A limited number of bursaries are available.
ENCOUNTERS WITH CANADA
EWC is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for Canadian teens (age 14 to 17) to meet young people from across the country. Spend a week in your nation’s capital. Take part in exciting adventures, explore future career options, learn more about your country, share your hopes and dreams – all through exclusive hands-on workshops, presentations and excursions. EWC has been offering rich and diverse programs for 30 years. Over 90,000 youth have already lived the “EWC Experience.” You can too!
SHAD VALLEY
Drive. Stretch. Dream. Shad Valley is a pre-university experience of a lifetime for Grade 10, 11, and 12 students. Spend four intense weeks experiencing campus life in residence at a top Canadian University.

MEI INTERNATIONAL ACADEMY
Motivate. Experience. Inspire. MEI International offers a variety of summer programs, semester programs & gap year programs. One of their programs is a 40-day 2-course summer program in the Mediterranean with an academic focus on English/Literature and Media Studies. The MEI Gap Year program is designed to provide you with a year that balances academic structure and stimulation, with adventure and athletics. The gap year program provides students with the opportunity to earn credit in 8 high school courses while travelling the world, visiting destinations including New York, Beijing, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Nepal, Mumbai, Paris, Switzerland, and more!

BE AN EXCHANGE STUDENT! Experience the other side of the world, for a semester or a year. Live with a family, and go to school in the country of your choice, and come home as a more independent, confident, and worldly citizen. Shecana is also offering bursaries to students in your school district toward future travel.

KATIMAVIK
Katimavik challenges young people to take advantage of an amazing opportunity to make a difference for Canadian communities and for themselves! Spend 6 months far from home learning, working, discovering, connecting, and building. Gain a sense of accomplishment by working for not-for-profit organizations that play an important role in developing and strengthening local communities.
YOUTH CHALLENGE INTERNATIONAL
Do something that matters. Contribute to your global community. Volunteer overseas! Youth Challenge offers unique opportunities to participate in youth-driven health, leadership and livelihoods programs in eight countries worldwide. There are programs for ages 18 and up. An ideal opportunity for a "gap year" or summer break.
CANADA WORLD YOUTH
Have the experience of a lifetime! 3 months in Canada, 3 months overseas. Explore a different region of Canada AND in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Eastern Europe or Latin America. Do volunteer work in a variety of fiends and meet other young people from around the world. Learn by doing and explore new horizons!

Lattitude Global Volunteering offers volunteer experiences in over ten different countries. Travel, learn, volunteer, and share experiences through cultural immersion.
