Get out your Vuvuzelas it's Jouro time! The entire school will show down on the soccer pitch battling to win the Jouro Soccer Cup next week. Parents are welcome to come out and behold the excitement. Here are some notes for participants:

Monday June 17th - The opening round match-ups were drawn out of a hat. Again, it is single knockout so if you lose you're out. The three winning teams from each grade will advance to the second round on Tuesday. The team with the best goal differential will get to the grade group final.

Tuesday June 18th - In the second round, the #2 and #3 seeds from each grade will play in each other.  The winner will play the #1 seed to determine the grade group champion. The final game on day two will be the grade 7 champion against the grade 6 champion.  The grade 8 champion gets to the Jouro Final.

Final - The final will need to be played some time between Wednesday and Friday please give me feedback whether this will work or if we will need to squeeze the final into Tuesday.

Fan Participation - Each team has picked 2 colours that will represent their class.  Both players and fans are expected to be decked out in their colours.  There is a designated area for fans to cheer.  If your class is not playing they can watch the grade 7 or 8 game in the “Fan Zone”. Teams that are playing will have half a bleacher and the area behind their bench to cheer on their team.  Cheering should be positive for your team not negative toward the other.  You are not obligated to stay out when your team is not playing, but you are welcome.

Journey Band Concert

Come on out for a night of beautiful music. The JMS concert band and the strings will be performing tonight at 7 pm in the school gym. If you want a sneak peek at what you will be enjoying, visit the Band page on this website. We are very proud of our school's bands and very thankful for the teachers and volunteers who have put their expertise and enthusiasm into creating an impressive program. Tonight is a showcase for those efforts.

Please note that the June Newsletter is now out and available on the Newsletters' page.

JMS had its last dance of the school year last night and it was a success. A big thank you goes out to the parents and teachers who volunteered their free time to make this event possible. Special thanks go to the Leadership students and their teachers, Mrs Abell and Mrs Harbottle, for planning and running the Spring Dance. You rock!

This year Journey Middle School and EMCS Musical Theatre proudly present “TIC TOC”. The show is at the EMCS Theatre on June 5 and 6 at 7 pm. Tickets are on sale in the Journey Library, EMCS office and at the door. Act fast because seating is limited. Break a leg, you talented bunch of Sooke kids.

Also, the May Newsletter is out and available on our Newsletters' Page. Read all about it.

Last chance to dance, dance, dance. JMS is holding its last dance of the 2012/2013 school year this Wednesday, May 29th, from 7-9 pm. All proceeds go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. It is the perfect excuse to get all dressed up and have some fun for a good cause.
We need volunteers to help to run this event. Please refer to the parent volunteer page for details.
