Journey has a band program that is run by the all talented Mrs Bjorkland. Mrs Bjorkland has created a fantastic band program and works with volunteers from the Sooke Philharmonic Orchestra to create beautiful music with Journey students.

Band News...

Dear Parents and Guardians,
 
Our numbers for the trip to Vancouver have dropped to about 1/4  and so  we are unable to go on the trip.  I have kept all deposits with me personally so no money is lost and I will return deposits and personal cheques. 
 
The trip to Port Alberni on April 19 is still on and ALL students are to come on that trip as it is a competition  (semi-finals for a national competition.   The collective donations raised and the money from PAC will pay for the trip (bus, entry fees, uniforms and lunch)  Additional money that has been raised by individuals will be given to you in cheques that Debbie has made out to you from the band account.  You can pick them up from me or have your child take it home.  This money could be put toward dinner on the trip or beverages or saved for next year. 
 
Any  monies left over will go towards a Mill Bay day trip which will take place in May or June.
 
To get ready for the trip, the Grade 7-8 students have 5 pieces to practise, African Folk Trilogy, Premiere Suite, March Saranac, Comet Ride and Let's Go Band.  The Grade 6 students will need to practise African Folk Trilogy, Premiere March and Let's Go Band.
 
I am looking forward to getting ready for the Port Alberni experience.
