Poirier’s Destination Conservation team is made up of intermediate students that are helping to save the environment one task at a time. Over the years they have instituted “Dine in the Dark” in order to save energy, our composting program, hard plastics recycling and this year our focus has been on reducing the juice boxes that come to our school. After learning that all the juice box recycling plants are in China and the empty juice boxes are sent back there on large container ships, the DC team thought we should promote drinking water through the sale of Poirier water bottles. The water bottles will be for sale again after Spring Break. Please stay tuned for more from the Destination Conservation team.
