Grade 5 Transition to Journey (JMS)
WIth the arrival of Spring comes the work of preparing our grade 5 students for their transition to Journey Middle School. Journey Middle School prides itself in working closely with its five feeder elementary schools to ensure incoming students are appropriately placed and supported, and feeling comfortable about this exciting time in their educational lives.
In the next few months Journey administration and specialist teachers will be visiting each elementary school and working with their teachers and their grade 5 classes to learn about our incoming students and prepare for their arrival in September 2012! In addition grade 5 students will continue with their visits to Journey as part of the JMS Exploratory program. These visits give incoming grade 5's the chance to get to know the school and ask questions of staff and students. Finally on the evening of May 29 from 6 to 7pm Journey Middle School will be hosting its annual Grade 5 parent night. We encourage parents to come out to find out more about Journey Middle School and what their child can expect in their first year at Journey!
In the meantime if you have questions or concerns please feel free to contact myself or our school counsellor, Mrs. Janine Brooks.
