SAFE ARRIVAL PROGRAM
WELCOME STUDENTS AND PARENTS!!!
The Wishart Safe Arrival Program has proven to be very successful, and once again the Wishart School Supporters are asking parents for their support and participation to ensure that this valuable program will continue to operate smoothly.
This is how the program works:
Parents/guardians call the number provided below when your child is sick or will be away from school, or if your child will be late arriving to school. Students must check in at the office when they are arriving late.
You can call this number at any time, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The recorded message specifically asks for your child's name(s), teacher & division, what date and the days your child will be absent. Parents are reminded to call in to the program even if they have let their child's teacher know that their child will be absent. If that is not possible then please call the school secretary and let her know.
A parent volunteer will check the messages and record the names, which will be cross-checked to the teacher's attendance sheets. This helps to ensure that all of the students are accounted for.
The phone number for the Safe Arrival Program is 250-478-7294. Fridge magnets with the number are available upon request but must be returned to the school if your family moves or when your child graduates from Wishart.
**** Parent volunteers are needed to run this program****
If you are able to contribute 20-40 minutes of your time (depending on variables such as student absences, attendance forms being received on time, your own work pace, etc.) first thing in the morning to check the answering machine and record the absentees, please contact Yvonne Sundyb, Wishart's Safe Arrival Coordinator at 250-744-5881.
Thank you for your support!
