Students are expected to maintain regular contact with their instructor, through email or phone, and to complete and submit at least one assignment every week. They should notify their instructor of the reason(s) for any delays in submitting course work.
Courses are to be completed within one school year (10 months) of the start date. Students in grades 8 to 12, enrolled in another secondary school will be expected to complete the course within the current school year, unless alternate arrangements have been made with the on-line instructor and/or their home school.
If you are not handing in work on a regular basis OR staying in contact with your instructor, there will be a good chance that you will be made inactive in your course and withdrawn. If this happens, you will be required to contact Heather Lait, our JDFDL Vice-Principal at firstname.lastname@example.org to get permission to be put back into the course and a contract of completion will need to be made.
If you wish an extension, you must contact the JDFDL registration office, complete an application for extension form and bring this to your school.
Students not enrolled with any other secondary school, in most cases, will have one school year (10 months) to complete a course.
