CONT Applications are invited from professionally qualified individuals for the following teaching Positions of Special Responsibility (POSR). Positions will be filled by competition (Article E11.3b). Placements into these POSR positions during the school year may be considered in accordance with Article E.11.3d
2.0 Teacher Coordinator Inclusion Coach (2 positions). Refer to Job Description attached
Position Responsibilities
· Works collaboratively with School Based Teams, school district staff, Inter-ministerial agencies, and Ministry staff to actively support the successful inclusion of students with diverse needs in school
· Assists in the development of effective transition structures and individual plans for students with exceptional needs
· In collaboration with the District IES Team, develops and leads in-service and workshops on topics related to Inclusive Education
· Provides file summaries, collaboration and consultation to the District Screening Committee based on an in-depth understanding of Ministry Guidelines and following up with School Based Inclusion Support staff as needed, based on the Committees recommendations
· Assists staff in developing and implementing effective FBAs, Support Plans and Student Regulation Plans consistent with Ministry criteria
· Supports the training and implementation of Inclusive Education Plans aligning to the new Competency Based Curriculum
· Facilitates meetings and discussions as necessary, and assist with team problem solving regarding the successful inclusion of all students
· Provides individual consultation and support for teachers, educational assistants and parents regarding strategies and approaches including but not limited to technology, social emotional learning, and adaptations and modifications as each pertains to students with exceptional needs
Qualifications
· Masters Degree in Special Education or equivalent
· Minimum five (5) years of successful school-based experience teaching or supporting students
· Successful experience working as an Inclusion Support Teacher in a number of settings including Skills for Life
· Experience facilitating adult learning and professional development, including coaching and mentoring educators
· Experience and training in communication skills and / or non-violent communication
· Current certification in CPI: Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, or willing to obtain
The starting annual salary for this teaching position ranges from $60,394 to $109,520, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. We also offer a competitive benefits package and pension.
