School District No. 62 (Sooke) (SD62) is paperless with its job application process.  Only a completed application package, submitted electronically through www.makeafuture.ca will be accepted.

No. Once a job posting for SD62 has closed, it no longer appears on makeafuture.ca  Only a complete application package sent electronically through www.makeafuture.ca and submitted by the closing date/time will be accepted.

SD62 is one of the few growing school districts in BC.   We encourage you to learn more about SD62 by exploring our website.  

We are always recruiting and have on-going vacancies which are all posted on Make a Future.  We encourage you to sign up for the "Job Alert" feature on www.makeafuture.ca to get an email notification when jobs are posted for SD62 so you don't miss out on job opportunities.

If/when there is a need to add to our on-call lists, jobs are posted on www.makeafuture.ca and on the SD62 website under Employment.

We, unfortunately, cannot grant requests for informational interviews from prospective applicants.  We attend local Career Fairs to provide information as much as possible.

Qualifications will vary based on the position and are included in the job posting. Some examples are as follows:

• Teacher positions require current BC Teacher Certification
• Specialty Teacher positions such as Counsellors, Psychologists require a Master's degree in the appropriate discipline in addition to the BC Teacher Certification.
• Inclusive Support Teacher positions require a Master's degree/diploma/certificate in Inclusive Education which includes a minimum of on Level B Assessment course at the 300-400 level.
• Educational Assistant positions require an Education Assistant certificate or Community Support Worker certificate.
• Supervision Assistants require an Occupational First Aid Level 1 certificate and a high school diploma.
• Administrative/Clerical positions require a Business Administration certificate.
• Trades positions require a Trade Qualifications certificate.
• Custodial positions require a Building Services Worker certificate.

Due to the volume of applications, we are unable to process requests from applicants to review qualifications prior to the application process.  We encourage you to apply for positions your feel you are qualified for, and your complete application package will be evaluated as part of that process.

We are thankful for all applicants' interest in SD62, but we are only able to contact those applicants that have been short-listed.

Complete application packages are reviewed electronically as soon as possible after the closing date/time.

We receive a large number of applications per job posting and vacancies are filled using a competitive process.  If you were not short-listed this time around, please don't get discouraged and keep trying as we appreciate your interest in SD62.
