Digital Literacy and AI

Digital literacy is the ability to use technology safely, responsibly, and effectively. It includes skills like finding reliable information online, understanding how social media works, protecting privacy, and using digital tools for learning and everyday life.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is technology that allows computers to “think” and learn from data, much like how people learn from experience. Parents should know that AI powers things like recommendation systems (e.g., on YouTube or Netflix), voice assistants (like Siri or Alexa), and even educational apps. Understanding AI helps families make informed choices, guide children in safe technology use, and prepare them for a future where AI will play an even bigger role in school and work.
