Our Pathways and Choice programs empower students with meaningful "voice and choice" in their educational journey. Grounded in a commitment to flexible, differentiated pathways to graduation, these programs are designed for learners who thrive outside the traditional classroom setting. Whether through Career Education opportunities (supported by the South Island Partnership and Camosun College), Dual Credit courses, Outdoor Education, Blended and Online learning, or Adult and Continuing Education, students are encouraged to explore diverse, personalized routes to success.
Program Highlights Include:
- Westshore Secondary School – Colwood & Sooke Campuses: Alternate Cohort, Individual Learning Program, and Take a Hike
- Career Education: TASK (Trades Awareness & Skills), SIP (South Island Partnership), and Dual Credit programs
- Work-Based Learning: Youth Work in Trades, Youth Train in Trades, and Work Experience
- Flexible Learning Models: Online, blended, and Continuing Education (18+)
These programs are developed in collaboration with Belmont Secondary, Edward Milne Community School, Royal Bay Secondary, Westshore Secondary, and the South Island Partnership—comprising Camosun College and School Districts 61 (Greater Victoria), 63 (Saanich), 64 (Gulf Islands), and 79 (Cowichan).
Aligned with SD62’s Strategic Plan, Pathways & Choice ensures that all students have access to multiple routes to graduation, with greater flexibility in how, when, and where learning takes place—offering more hands-on, practical experiences that prepare them for life beyond school.
