Communication is an important part of your child’s education journey. We are proud to have dedicated and supportive teachers, school administrators and staff who intentionally create inclusive and caring environments where our students can thrive and feel safe. Families are part of our inclusive school communities, and we encourage parents/guardians to communicate in ways that can help their child feel valued and supported on their education journey.
Schools are not only learning places, but workplaces where staff have the right to feel safe and respected. The number of incidents where staff experience unacceptable and abusive communications is on the rise. The District has developed electronic communication guidelines to improve collaboration, communication and understanding at our schools and sites.
Respectful communication is at the heart of developing relationships, and it is an expectation from families. These guidelines will help you to better understand the capacity of our staff, the best approaches to connecting to discuss your child’s education journey and draws boundaries for unacceptable dialogue. It’s important to remember we’re all on the same team and by working together, we can all contribute to positive student outcomes.
