Date

This work will not be completed in my lifetime. My hope is that through education and dedication, we are laying the foundation for the next generation to continue the necessary work of reconciliation." -Ravi Parmar, Chair of the Sooke School District Board of Education

Our district is taking time and offering space to acknowledge Truth and Reconciliation Week at our schools and sites. Students and staff will participate in drumming circles, breaking bannock together, listening to survivors and learning more about the residential school experience through age-appropriate activities. We honour the children who never returned home and survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities.

All of our schools and sites will be closed on Friday, September 30 to commemorate the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
