The Rotary Club of Victoria is committed to making a difference for youth. One of the ways they do this is to support graduating students who will be attending a post-secondary institution in the fall and other high school students who exemplify the values of Rotary.
The Rotary Club of Victoria seeks to reward students who make a positive difference in our community and show that they can become our future leaders. Each year they award scholarships at Esquimalt High School and, starting in 2021, the additional scholarships/awards will be available to graduating students throughout Greater Victoria. The values of the awards will be either $1500 or $2000.
To qualify, you:
1) must be enrolled at a public secondary school in School District 61 (Greater Victoria), School District 62 (Sooke), School District 63 (Saanich), at a secondary school in School District 93 (French first-language) located within the geographical limits of District 61, 62 or 63) or other secondary school within the geographical limits of District 61, 62 or 63;
2) must be graduating in June this year and will be continuing your education at a recognized post-secondary institution in the fall. The possibility of a gap year may be considered.
3) must be a Canadian citizen or have landed immigrant status.
To apply, please complete the application form available on the website below . The form is a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet and can be printed after you fill it in (and then scanned) or attached directly to the email you submit with your completed application.
Attach the completed form (excel or PDF), your resumé, transcript, and a copy of your acceptance letter from a post-secondary institution and email them to the scholarship committee at rcv.scholarships@rotaryvictoria.ca.
Contact two references and have them send reference letters to the same email address.
The deadline for applications is June 30 each year.
Once the Rotary Club receives your application, if they have questions, they will contact you and may ask you to meet with them.
The Rotary Club of Victoria will announce the recipients by August 31 each year.
