At its public meeting on January 27, 2026, the Board of Education was formally notified of the resignation of Trustee Allison Watson, effective January 31, 2026, in accordance with the School Act.
Following receipt of the resignation, the Board considered the statutory requirements related to trustee vacancies. As the vacancy occurs after January 1 in the year of a general school election, and with the required number of trustees continuing in office, the Board resolved at their public meeting on January 27 to hold the vacancy open until the October 2026 General School Election, as permitted under Section 36(2) of the School Act.
The Board of Education thanks Trustee Watson for her service and remains focused on its governance responsibilities in support of students, staff and the community.
