In order for a student to be eligible for provincially funded education in British Columbia, the student and their parent/guardian must meet specific criteria set out at the provincial level as follows:
a) must be of school age, and
b) must be Ordinarily a resident in British Columbia
The location where a student's parent/guardian maintains primary residency and where the student is "ordinarily a resident in the every day course of living" determines admission status, attendance area and school the student is expected to attend.
