Learn to Play Golf Academy

Overview 

  • 3 hours of CPGA instruction a week at Olympic View’s state-of-the-art practice facility featuring expansive grass tee decks, five target greens and two comprehensive short game areas. 
  • Optional weekly on-course sessions.
  • Golf Canada membership for handicapping and stat collection.
  • Access to Golf Canada’s practice, tournament reflection and pre-season planning tools.
  • Full credit online course work for secondary students.
  • Access to launch monitor and Golf Simulator technology.
  • Available to all SD62 students in Grades 6-12.

Schedule

The “Learn to Play” Golf Academy has 2 instructional sessions a week and one optional “9 hole” on-course session. 

  •  Instructional sessions open at 3:45 p.m. where students have 15 minutes to warm-up. Instruction/drills start at 4 p.m. and end at 5 p.m. Students then have time at the end for independent practice.
  • On-course sessions are on Friday afternoons with tee times starting around 3 p.m. Students get experience with rules, etiquette and pace of play.

Instruction

  • Regular access to Flight Scope launch monitor with 15 data parameters.
