Parmar re-elected as SD62 Board Chair

LANGFORD – In a unanimous vote, trustees re-elected Ravi Parmar for a third term as Chair at last night’s Board of Education meeting.

Ravi Parmar will continue as Chair, with Bob Beckett serving as Vice Chair.

“I’m humbled by the trust my colleagues have placed in me to continue serving them and this District as their Board Chair,” said Parmar. “This has been a challenging year, but I remain optimistic that 2021 will be filled with innovation, collaboration and opportunities. As Chair, I’m honoured to lead the Board as we strive towards supporting our students and staff as they continue to learn, engage and grow in our schools.”

A graduate of SD62’s Belmont Secondary School, Parmar was first elected to the SD62 Board of Education in 2014 and Chair in 2017. Former Langford Fire Chief, Bob Beckett is currently in his first term as trustee and second year as Vice Chair.

“It’s no secret that our Board is extremely hard working and forward-thinking,” says Scott Stinson, SD62 Superintendent of Schools. “SD62 Trustees are continuously in the forefront gathering crucial feedback that helps guide the school district. At the pace that SD62 is growing, this type of leadership is vital, and we are thankful for it.”
