The Government of British Columbia made an exciting announcement regarding the replacement of Port Renfrew Elementary School. Rachna Singh, Minister of Education and Child Care was joined by MLA Ravi Parmar to announce the funding to replace the school.
Port Renfrew students joined the announcement live from the school, along with Teacher and Community Leader Trystan Dunn-Jones.
Port Renfrew Elementary School currently stands as one of the most seismically unsafe schools in the province. The construction phase of a seismically safe replacement is expected to begin sometime this summer and expected completion is fall 2025.
