Youth Work Awards 2023

Date

On Friday, April 28, the Sooke School District held its Youth Work Awards. The event recognized 26 SD62 graduates from each of our 4 high schools (Belmont Secondary, Edward Milne Community School, Royal Bay Secondary and Westshore Secondary). Each student received a $1000.00 cheque from the Ministry of Education and Child Care in partnership with Skilled Trades BC for each completing 900 work-based training in a trade.

The event was attended by district staff, students, families, employers, community partners and representatives from the Ministry of Education and Child Care and Skilled Trades BC.

We are proud of the 30,000 hours that our students accumulated dedicated to their apprenticeship hours.
