This award is available to School Districts 61, 62 & 63 students.

One Scholarship of $1000 is available.

Successful applicants will be selected by the Rocky Point Bird Observatory Awards Committee. 

Requirements: Graduating, full time high school students of School Districts 61, 62 & 63 who intend to pursue a career that supports bird and/or environmental conservation.

Selection Criteria:
1. Attending high school full time.
2. Graduating in the year that award is presented.
3. Able to demonstrate a strong interest in education and learning.
4. Intending to pursue a career related to environmental conservation.
5. Involvement in extra-curricular and/or community activities related to environmental conservation, particularly a focus on birds, is considered an asset.

Application Process:
1. Complete the cover letter and written work and ask for a letter of recommendation to add to your application package. Include your name, school and email address on the cover letter. a) Prepare the cover letter for the Rocky Point Bird Observatory Awards Committee outlining how you meet the eligibility criteria. You must include answers to the following questions (400 words) Why do birds matter? Why is that important to you? b) A résumé, if available c) A letter of recommendation from a teacher, school counsellor, mentor or volunteer supervisor.
2. Submit the completed application package to development@rpbo.org

Notes: THE AWARD IS ONLY AVAILABLE TO STUDENTS ATTENDING PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN THE GREATER VICTORIA SCHOOL DISTRICT, SOOKE SCHOOL DISTRICT AND SAANICH SCHOOL DISTRICT.
