Bus Driver Appreciation Day is May 19. It is a day to acknowledge our bus drivers and thank them for the important role they play in getting our students safely to and from school every day.
“Our drivers are integral to our school communities. There has been a shortage of qualified bus drivers across the province and we recognize the effort our drivers have dedicated to pick up routes to cover during shortages to keep our students moving,” said Randy Cobb, Transportation Manager. “Our drivers are moving over 4200 students across the district safely every day, in all kinds of conditions.”
We invite everyone to join us in thanking and celebrating bus drivers this Friday and every day for the important service they provide to students and families across the Sooke School District.
This work is also made possible by our mechanics and support staff in the Transportation Department, and we are grateful for their service.
