The Career Education department in SD62 provides students from Kindergarten through Grade 12—and beyond—with meaningful pathways to employment, post-secondary education, and skilled trades. Our work aligns with both the District’s Strategic Plan and the Ministry of Education and Child Care’s Vision for Student Success. In support of the Ministry’s goal of developing the “Educated Citizen,” our team is committed to fostering students’ intellectual, human and social, and career development through engaging, hands-on learning experiences, “see it, be it” opportunities, and robust dual credit and trades training programs.

In Grades K–8, we collaborate with school staff to deliver experiential learning opportunities such as inSpire presentations and Junior Skills Canada events and competitions.

In Grades 9–12, we support the Career Education departments at all four secondary schools by offering students a wide range of career pathways, including work experience placements, post-secondary dual credit courses and programs, and skilled trades training through Youth Work in Trades and Youth Train in Trades.
