NOTICE OF NOMINATION
Nominations for the election of seven (7) Trustees - Four (4) at large from the Belmont Zone (Area 1) and three (3) at large from the Milnes Landing Zone (Area 2) for a four (4) year term commencing in November, 2026
will be received by the Chief Election Officer or a designated person, as follows:

Nomination forms are available at 2026 General School Election and at the School District Office, 3143 Jacklin Road, from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 1, 2026 to 4:00 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2026, excluding statutory holidays and weekends.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR OFFICE |
A person is qualified to be nominated, elected, and to hold office as a School Trustee if they meet the following criteria:
Canadian citizen;
18 years of age or older on general voting day Saturday, October 17, 2026;
resident of British Columbia for at least 6 months immediately before the day nomination papers are filed; and
not disqualified under the School Act or any other enactment from voting in an election in British Columbia or being nominated for, being elected to or holding the office, or be otherwise disqualified by law.
CAMPAIGN PERIOD EXPENSE LIMITS and THIRD-PARTY ADVERTISING LIMITS |
In accordance with the Local Elections Campaign Financing Act, for the 2026 general school election, the expense limit for candidates during the campaign period between September 19 and October 17, 2026, is $34,559.63 in the Belmont Zone (Area 1) and $11,983.35 in the Milnes Landing Zone (Area 2).
In accordance with the Local Elections Campaign Financing Act, the expense limit for third party advertising is $2,129.53 in the Belmont Zone (Area 1) and $924.28 in the Milnes Landing Zone (Area 2).
