Sooke School District has released its latest Enhancing Student Learning Report (ESLR), an annual report that highlights student

achievement, tracks progress and identifies opportunities to strengthen student learning. The report provides valuable information to support educational planning, guide district priorities, and help create meaningful learning experiences for all students.

Guided by the Ministry of Education and Child Care's Framework for Enhancing Student Learning, the district uses a combination of quantitative and qualitative data to better understand student growth in three key areas: intellectual development, human and social development, and career development. The report also places emphasis on the experiences and outcomes of Indigenous students, children and youth in care, and students with diverse abilities and disabilities.

To measure progress in these areas, the district examines key indicators of student success, including literacy and numeracy skills, student well-being, transition between grades, graduation rates and enrolment in B.C. post-secondary institutions. Together, these help identify areas of strength, opportunities for improvement and ways to better support student success across the district.
