6th grade students get a taste of highschool trades programs.

Over 160 students from Dunsmuir and Journey Middle schools visited their feeder high schools this week to explore Trades programs.
Students worked on three different skill sets - carpentry, metal work and electrical.
The final product included joinery and soldering to complete their projects - a candle holder to take home.
With trades people in high demand, it's hoped that early exposure to trades will assist students in career decision making.
