Mechanical and Electrical Supervisor Under the general direction of the Manager of Facilities, the Mechanical and Electrical Supervisor will plan, coordinate, and supervise mechanical and electrical maintenance activities to achieve the highest level of quality, safety, and effectiveness to minimize maintenance energy costs. The Mechanical and Electrical Supervisor is responsible for the operation of HVAC systems, heating control systems (pneumatic, electronic, and digital), plumbing systems and electrical systems. This role requires an in-depth understanding of rules and regulations related to mechanical and electrical systems and assumes primary responsibility for meeting all legislated and other requirements. We are looking for candidates that: Strives for Personal Excellence Practices a Growth Mindset Thinks Critically and Creatively Effectively Communicates and Collaborates Builds RelationshipsFosters Interconnectedness If you possess the above qualities, please submit a cover letter and resume outlining your education and experience in the following areas: A degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with a thorough understanding of both mechanical and electrical systems preferred Red Seal qualification in a mechanical or electrical trade accompanied by demonstrable experience in managing mechanical and electrical systems in a multi facility environment, other Red Seal trade qualifications may be considered Minimum of seven (7) years’ recent and related experience demonstrating knowledge in: budget preparation and management for a minimum of $2M in annual funding energy efficient technology related to innovative HVAC systems including geothermal current best practices in the building and site maintenance practices, municipal and fire codes, hazard management techniques and preventative maintenance fundamentals Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the supervision of staff; preferably in a unionized setting Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office (outlook, word and excel), familiarity with host and internet-based computer applications and demonstrable ability to monitor, maintain and operate DDC software to ensure continuous functionality of building systems Experience working in the in the public sector; preferably in the K-12 education sector Sooke School District is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace that is free of discrimination and harassment.
