Judy Bourne Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is for Aboriginal Youth planning to attend a recognized post-secondary institution.

Selection criteria: 
1)  Aboriginal Ancestry
2)  Graduating this June planning to begin full time studies at a post-secondary school
3)  Good scholastic standing
4)  Community involvement
5)  Leadership abilities

Scholarship must be claimed within two years of date of award

Juan de Fuca Soccer Association Dirk Darley Scholarship

The Dick Darley Scholarship is a memorial scholarship in the amount of $500 which may be awarded by the Juan de Fuca Football Club (JDFFC) each year to any applicant whose application is deemed to have met the eligibility criteria.

The Scholarship will be payable to the winner(s) by cheque or electronic funds transfer upon receipt of proof of registration at a post-secondary training institution. A one-year deferral will be accepted upon written request.

Belairdirect Scholarship

Check the website for details and to confirm the application deadline.  Application usually opens in March or April.

Belairdirect Insurance offers 50 scholarships, valued at $1000 each, to eligible students completing high school in June and starting post-secondary education in the Fall.  

Eligible applicants will be evaluated based on three components:

(1) academic achievement;
(2) volunteer/community involvement and/or extracurricular activities; and
(3) quality and relevance of the personal statement

Big Brothers Big Sisters Harry deSwager Bursary

This award goes to a student who is a past or current Teen Mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Victoria.

Application forms will be posted on the EMCS Scholarships/Bursaries webpage. 

Applications must include:
- completed application form
- current school transcript
- reference letter from a teacher/instructor or a personal reference (excluding family members)

Application deadline is May 1 of each year.   

Engineers & Geoscientists of BC Engineering Transfer Scholarships

The Engineers and Geoscientists BC Foundation offers this scholarship  for students entering or currently enrolled in a engineering transfer program (engineering fundamentals, engineering certificate, or similar) with the intention of completing the remainder of an engineering degree at another institution.

The scholarships, valued at $2,500, are awarded based on a combination of factors, including academic standing, extracurricular activities, financial need, and a student statement.

Engineers & Geoscientists of BC Engineering Entrance Scholarships

The Engineers and Geoscientists BC Foundation offers several entry scholarships to British Columbia high school graduates entering engineering or earth science programs at the University of British Columbia, University of Victoria, Simon Fraser University, British Columbia Institute of Technology, Vancouver Island University (earth science only), and the University of Northern British Columbia.

David C. Lam TEAL (BC Teachers of an Additional Language) Foundation Award

January 31 is the deadline each year. 

The Scholarship is valued at up to $3,000. It recognizes an English language learner graduating from a BC secondary school who has combined academic competence with school and community service, and who wishes to further his/her education at a post-secondary institution in British Columbia.

Please note that applicants for the David C. Lam/BC TEAL ELL Scholarship must be documented permanent residents of Canada.  International students on student visas are not eligible for this award.

Canadian Scholarship Trust Foundation Bursaries

The CST Foundation Bursaries are awarded to students who require financial assistance to access post-secondary education.  Applicants must be students whose parents did not attend post-secondary education.  From university degrees to apprenticeships, all Canadian post-secondary education programs are eligible for bursaries.

The funds can be used to cover the cost of tuition and related expenses such as books, supplies or living expenses.
