Supporting SD62 Communities

Date

Dear families,

On Friday, November 19, the province announced temporary travel and fuel restrictions across the province. As different areas recover from last week’s flooding, we will continue to focus on keeping students and staff safe, maintaining educational continuity for students and reducing fuel usage to the greatest extent possible.

SD62 continues to be proud of the work our staff does in order to support students and our community.  As part of the collective effort to minimize gas usage, we are:

  • cancelling in-person meetings that fall outside of the regular work environment;

  • encouraging staff to carpool or ride share where possible; and

  • eliminating non-essential travel.

The province’s fuel supply is limited, and we greatly encourage families and the community to take these restrictions seriously. Our collective efforts do make a difference!

Social Emotional Support

In light of the extreme weather events we have experienced in our province last week, there have been significant impacts to students, families and staff. The first and most important support for children and youth are their family. Here is some general information for how to support your child/children:

Thank you for your attention this email and dedication to keeping SD62 students and staff safe.

Sincerely,
