District Position School Board Office Inclusive Education.6 CONT Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher (Flexible days)Position Description:A strong advocator and subject matter expert in the Deaf Culture. Works with other members of a school and department to support students. Assists and trains others in the use of hearing aids, sound fields, FM and Roger equipment. Possess a valid BC Driver’s License and vehicle a travel throughout the district is required.Preferred Qualifications:• Master’s degree or diploma in the education of the Deaf and hard of hearing• Successful classroom experience modifying and adapting curriculum and knowledge of the K–12 curriculum, including upper-level sciences and math• Experience and understanding of IEP process and creating transition plans• Experience and expertise in the use of hearing aids, sound fields, FM and Roger equipment• Fluent in American Sign Language• Fluency in French would be an asset     The starting annual salary for this teaching position ranges from $58,635 to $106,217, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.  We also offer a competitive benefits package and pension.
